'The imminent Covid-19 (Coronavirus) 'lockdown' in New Zealand has huge implications. Many of these are being extensively discussed in the news media and via the internet. Perhaps the most obvious is the pressure on supermarkets, where hand-sanitiser and various staple foods in particular are being stripped from the shelves. An area of importance, that we have not seen mentioned so far, relates to patients with orthopaedic or spinal problems. Hip pain, knee pain, & back pain will continue for sufferers, irrespective of the Covid-19 crisis. With 'lockdown' commencing at midnight on Wednesday in New Zealand the challenge is how to provide a facility that allows us to engage with those who are seeking diagnosis and advice on their condition. Fortunately the digital age provides us with a variety of tools that reduce the challenges of distance and isolation. Dr Kieser will be very pleased to hear from patients who would like to pursue a telephone / virtual consultation. If you are experiencing orthopaedic or spinal difficulties it is not necessary to wait until the 'lockdown' has been lifted. Simply complete the online enquiry form below (Please include your full name, date of birth, phone number being used during the lockdown, normal residential address, ACC or insurance claim number (or payment method)).
