Empowering Patients & Referrers

Imaging technology is advancing
At Dr Kieser's practice our commitment goes beyond the diagnosis and treatment of orthopaedic conditions. We also want to disseminate worthwhile information to both patients and their General Practitioners. This is particularly the case with emerging technological solutions and enhancements. For example, imaging technology is advancing. It is now possible to x-ray patients on a functional basis prior to hip replacement. Thus we can give greater consideration to how the patient moves as an individual. This provides the operating surgeon with enhanced data prior to the patient coming in to the hospital and it also allows for the 3d Printing of patient specific alignment instruments. In surgery for the spine, hip, & knee so many exciting things are happening that it behoves us to try and answer some of the inevitable questions that patients and referrers will have. In 2019 "frequently asked questions" will be addressed at this site and we will begin the use of animations to enhance understanding of various orthopaedic issues and procedures. In the meantime, as always, you are most welcome to contact us.

Make 2019 your 'Year of Mobility'
We hope our patients and referrers have a great Christmas break. Over the holiday period we will be contactable so let us know if we can be of any assistance. At the rooms we always welcome your enquiries. Lex Berg is our Practice Manager. Lex is committed to a helpful and understanding approach. In 2019 we greatly look forward to helping more patients with their mobility

Lex makes sure that our practice runs smoothly and that patients receive the best of service. Always keen to get into the spirit of things Lex recently donned her Christmas Elf suite. One of the things we are very committed to at Dr Kieser's practice is to provide an environment at the rooms where patients feel relaxed. We appreciate that waiting at consulting rooms can be an anxious experience so we do everything we can to help patients and their relatives. Our tropical fish tank has proved very popular and we have installed a coffee machine for those flat whites & cappuccinos. Lex is you 'go to' person for our orthopaedic service - contact here.

Halloween at the rooms

At the consulting rooms in Caledonian Road we strive to provide a great environment for our visitors. We appreciate patients can be anxious so we have worked hard to create a relaxed and friendly space with nice artwork, David's beloved fish, and complimentary coffee. David's practice Manager Lex Berg with her American roots could not contain herself as Halloween approached. Up went a veritable cornucopia of items including the inflatable vampire bat.

Seeing patients differently

Welcome to the first entry on our blog where we focus on new solutions to spine, hip, knee and other orthopaedic problems. We will also be showcasing current research by our various students and collaborators and keeping patients and referrers abreast of our practice and the services offered.

Globally our understanding of medical and surgical sciences continues to evolve. Advances in imaging technology are providing ever greater insights into individual patient anatomy and motion. Indeed, every patient moves differently. Fortunately orthopaedic surgeons now have at their disposal more information than ever before and innovations such as robotics and 3D Printing enable use of that data to best clinical effect. Dr Kieser's practice is committed to both personal service and the deployment of cutting edge technology. Our mission is to help each patient return to their daily activities and enjoyment of life.
